  • Fire extinguishing equipment operating procedure- PASS Method
  • Hose Reels, Fire Buckets and Fire Blankets
  • Portable Fire Extinguisher
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Hazards (Safety for all).
  • Fire Hazards – Main causes of fires
  • Fire prevention and fire safety
  • Emergency plans and fire alarms
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Occupational Health & Safety Act – Duty to all.
  • Video demonstration of fire safety and  various extinguishing methods.
  • Practical sessions

 

  • Detailed subject notes and illustrations.

It is desirable for learners wishing to achieve this unit standard to be competent at:

  • Communication at ABET level 3 or equivalent
  • Mathematical Literacy at ABET Level 3 or equivalent   

For a short course: Successful delegates will receive a has attended certificate.

For a certificate of competence, a portfolio of evidence must be submitted by candidates.
